If you’re looking to add length, volume, or both without anyone clocking that it’s not all your own hair, that’s the whole point of a good extensions job. At Studio A Salon, extensions are built around your actual hair — density, growth pattern, texture — not a one-size install. Houston’s humidity and heat make extensions a different game than they are in a drier climate, and that’s exactly why the application method and aftercare plan matter as much as the hair itself.
We specialize in Hotheads Seamless Extensions, a human hair, adhesive weft system applied without heat or tools. Because the hair keeps its cuticle intact, it can be reapplied up to three times, and most clients get 8 to 10 weeks of wear out of each application before it needs to be moved up. We also offer tape-in and hand-tied options depending on your hair type and how much length or volume you’re after — your stylist will walk you through which method fits your hair best during consultation.

Extensions aren’t just for people who want waist-length hair overnight. Plenty of our clients come in wanting extra density through the crown, more volume for a special event, or just a fuller ponytail without waiting years to grow it out. Others want length changes for a season and are happy to remove them when they’re ready. There’s no wrong reason to ask about it — the consultation is where we figure out if it’s actually the right call for your hair’s health and your maintenance routine.
Every extension client starts with a one-on-one consultation before any hair goes in. Your stylist will evaluate your hair’s density and condition, match color so the blend is seamless, and talk through realistic expectations for length, fullness, and upkeep. This is also where we’re honest with you if extensions aren’t a good fit right now — a healthy scalp and hair matter more than any brand of weft.

Extensions are a commitment, not a set-it-and-forget-it service. Plan on move-up appointments as your natural hair grows out from underneath the weft, sulfate-free products to protect the bond, and a little extra care around heat styling. Your stylist will send you home with a specific care plan based on which method you got, since tape-in, hand-tied, and Hotheads all have slightly different rules.

David Armendariz, owner and creative director, brought Hotheads Seamless Extensions to Studio A Salon and has built much of the salon’s extension work around it. Garret Covey, a Level 5 stylist known for his blonde and color transformation work, is also certified in Bellami and Invisible Bead extension methods, giving clients more than one path depending on their hair and goals.
Extensions also come up a lot for bridal hair — added length or volume for the big day without a permanent change. If that’s what brought you here, our bridal team can talk through timing an install around your wedding date.
