Jesse Gudino discovered his love for beauty early, spending hours doing his sisters’ hair and makeup for family gatherings and events long before it became his career. That eye for beauty and shape carried into his education at the Glassel School of Art at the Museum of Fine Arts, Houston, where he studied sculpture on a full scholarship. He still channels that training today, using it to build color and shape that complement a client’s individual face and style rather than chase a single trend.
Jesse trained under Studio A Salon owner David Armendariz, where he learned the art of balayage and precision haircutting. He’s also studied under fashion icon Odile Gilbert and been coached by Sam Villa, one of the industry’s most respected educators. He regularly returns to L’Oréal’s SoHo Academy in New York and attends hair shows around the world to keep his technique sharp and current.
His work has been featured in Vogue Magazine, Houston Modern Luxury, Houston Modern Weddings, Papercity, and Architectural Digest. Backstage, Jesse has worked New York Fashion Week for Badgley Mischka, LRS, and Oscar de la Renta, alongside Project Runway winner Mondo Guerra and designer Viktor Luna. He’s also styled for shows at Tootsies.
Jesse is a certified Hairtalk extension specialist and Brazilian Blowout provider, with a particular focus on bridal and event makeup and fashion photoshoot production. Clients booking balayage or color with Jesse get an artist’s approach to both shape and shade — someone who trained to sculpt before he ever picked up a color brush.
